Adding a Proxy

Learn how to add a proxy in the dependent's account.

In the dependent’s home page, click on the ‘Account’ tab and then scroll down to ‘Add a Proxy’. Once clicked, add the relevant details - name, email and access expiration date.

Why adding a proxy?

Each covered person has a private account. A proxy lets one person view and manage another family member's coverage. Common reasons:

  • "How do I see my wife’s claims?" - A spouse's claims are private by default. A proxy gives access.

  • "My adult child is on the plan. How do I help with their bills?" - Children under 13 are visible to a parent automatically. Once a child turns 13, a proxy is needed.

  • "One person manages benefits for the whole family." - A proxy lets that person see every family member's coverage from one login.

  • "I need to help a family member who is not comfortable with the portal." - The proxy can act on their behalf without sharing a password.

What a proxy can do?

A proxy has the same access as the member for that coverage: view claims and explanation of benefits, upload and download claim documents, see the ID card, check benefits and deductible progress, view and connect a bank account for reimbursements, read messages, and complete forms.

Who can add a proxy?

  • The member, a parent of a covered child under 18, or a current proxy can add a proxy from the Account tab.

  • Yuzu member services can also add one on a member's behalf. Employers cannot add proxies for their employees.

How to add a proxy?

The proxy is added from the account of the person whose information will be shared (for example, the spouse's account, not the account of the person who wants to view it/subscriber. In other words, the spouse can give the subscriber the permission but not the other way around)

  • Log in to the dependent's account.

  • Click the Account tab and scroll down to Proxies.

  • Click + Add Proxy.

  • Enter the proxy's name, email or phone number, and the access expiration date.

  • Click Submit. The proxy can now log in with their own email or phone and will see the shared coverage.
