Who is Yuzu? Are you the member’s insurance?
Yuzu serves as the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for employer health plans. We administer plans for hundreds of different employers, each which legally has the ability to customize their benefits. These employers are responsible for funding benefits and making final claims determinations. Depending on the size of the individual employer, their plans may be subject to laws like COBRA and MHPAEA.
Yuzu supports health plans designed by several different Plan Designers including Arlo, Self Fund Health, and Securus Benefits whose information may appear on member ID cards and communications instead of our own.
Why don’t you validate network status?
Yuzu will validate network status for any custom contracts that are configured in Yuzu. These include direct contracts and Direct Primary Care assignments.
For Rental Networks (Cigna, Alliance, Trilogy, Midlands Choice, etc), Yuzu is not the source of truth for which providers are participating with the network. Providers should internally communicate with whoever at their organization handles contracting in order to validate their contracted status.
