Yuzu Best Practices

Our non-negotiables.

Non-Negotiables

  1. Contracts:

    1. Reseller → get drafted and signed

    2. Our SPD → get drafted for templates

    3. SPD and stoploss policy signed by 30 days or Yuzu services pause

    4. All groups must fund at the maximum - no reduction in agg factors, no check runs.

  2. Configuration:

    1. Banking: Stripe-hosted one (1) FBO per group, completed in New Group Onboarding which is coordinated by Olive Branch’s team

    2. Invoicing: ACH pulls only, no pushed funds, checks, or other.

    3. Invoicing: Each vendor (PBM, brokers, DPCs, etc.) are responsible for loading and verifying their own banking information.

    4. Data: No custom file feeds for point solution vendors - standard specs only

  3. Operations:

    1. Comms: Plan Designers gets in Slack

    2. Invoicing: Group invoiced on 25th of month, pulled on the 1st Deadline for groups: Finalized in portal 1 week pre-effective date

    3. Member Support: No first line member support (we still pickup the phone and help members, we are just not the plan designer)

    4. Plan Design: We set your plans up for you, you stick to those. Let us know if you have a change beyond deds/MOOPs or copays/coinsurance.

Strong Biases

  • Strong Biases: (to make life easier for all of us and give you a lower PEPM)

    1. Plan Year deductibles.

    2. No Accums loading

    3. COBRA = Yuzu managed

    4. Eligibility = Yuzu portal (Employee Navigator is pretty good FWIW)

    5. No grandfathered groups under 500 EEs
